Grand Tour Team Wraps It Up

Posted in Ryan's Rant on September 2, 2008 by Ryan

The Bandit Grand Tour Team brought its season to a close in fine form up in Vermont this weekend at the Green Mountain Stage Race. For those of you unfamiliar with the designation of roles on Bandit Cycling, the Grand Tour Team is ADM and me. The Classics Team consists of JKIA, Evil and Lefty. Sometimes Grand Tour riders do Classics and sometimes Classics riders do Grand Tours. From Kitt Peak

Bandit Racing is divided into two groups - the Spring Classics group (early Central Park races and Grant’s Tomb), and the Grand Tour group (mid season Central Park races and late season Central Park races). Jeff is the Classics group and I am the Grand Tour group. ADM, Justin and Matt are on both teams. Gears and Levers

Posted in Ryan's Rant on January 24, 2007 by Ryan

I have been approached by many of you over the past several months inquiring about the inner workings of Bandit Racing - how things work, who does what, training oversight, support staff, etc., and well as more general questions regarding how we deal with such diversity (finance and legal professionals on the same team), and what our hopes and dreams for the upcoming season are. Hear you me, my brothers, this is the year. Yep, the hiatus of slacking off and being slow is officially over. Last year was a toe back in the waters of racing and I have to say, the water was warm. Since bagging the whole racing thing cold turkey like 8 years ago to “graduate college” and “stop living with my parents” and “do data entry for pay” I’d suspected the day would come when I’d saddle up and “ride long distances” and “drink recovery drinks” and try to beat the people reading this post by “getting in a breakaway or surprising you by jumping at 1k to go in the Turkey Race because I thought Schmalz was fast enough to tow me to the line which proved to be a gross misjudgement on my part” and now that day has come. Yes sirs (and ma’ams), I am back in the saddle. Gone are the days of being known around here as the kid who went to college with Jeff King (Is Awesome). Now are the days where I’ll be known as the kid who tried really hard to give a leadout to Jeff King (Is Awesome) but cracked a little too early but who you know will try the same stunt again in a couple of weeks. This is going to be awesome.
