I’m Gonna eat me some Huevos Rancheros

Hola amigos. It’s been awhile since I rapped at ya. It’s been quiet on the website because Los Banditos have been giving me a hard time for my lame posts and they are too lazy to post anything. And guess what happens when I don’t post for a while. Those DBs start asking for another post… They want some insight into the life of Jeff King, they want to know what makes me tick. What I like (Mexican food), what I don’t like (food that isn’t Mexican food) and how my racing has been going.

Another Hotel

Saturday’s race was a good time. I got set up again by my Bandit teammates and didn’t touch the wind until 200 meters. They covered all the moves and gave me a perfect leadout in the sprint. I told them before that race that I would cover some moves, but during the race decided not to; it’s easier to tell people that you will cover moves than to actually do it. The race was fairly active. The highlight was was when Ryan spent a lap away with Ken Harris. The Bandits all looked at each other and smiled because we knew that he must be in a lot of pain and that made us happy.

Let me try to remember…

Posted in King's Korner on March 12, 2007 by Jeff King

That was basically a fun race, other than the crash. I was so far back that I heard it but didn’t really see it. By the time I came by, people were picking up their bikes. I swerved around and chased back on with some other guys.

For most of the race, I just sat at the back and tried to stay warm. At the back it is impossible to see what is going on in the race but it is easy to see who has not been riding. I saw a lot of people pull out; I won’t name names but… okay, Mihael. I saw Mihael drop out. I had to swerve out of the way like he was a pothole. Don’t be mad for me calling you out Mihael, you deserve that from the time you came up to me before a race and told me that I was too big and that I would get dropped. We are even now. The rest of the Remax guys looked really fit.

First Race is Tomorrow

Posted in King's Korner on March 9, 2007 by Jeff King

The Bandits will enter the NYC racing scene tomorrow morning at the CRCA race.  I overracted a bit on the CRCA email list when I thought they were going to start races in the dark.  No big deal, they sorted me out.

Some big questions remain for tomorrow.   Will the mysterious Empire show up in force with new kit?  Will somebody attack from the line?  Will it be cold?  Will a Bandit get dropped from the field and deflate a tyre as an excuse?  Will there be new teams with new kit?  Will a Bandit write a race report that in no way reflects what actually happened in the race?

That was cold… and frustrating

Posted in King's Korner on January 21, 2007 by Jeff King

Wow, that was some cold riding this weekend. The Bandits did a couple short rides in an attempt to “out-tough” the weather. We saw some other guys out there also, and I’m sure they will all agree with me that it was about 5-10 degrees too cold to be remotely comfortable.
