Let me try to remember…

That was basically a fun race, other than the crash. I was so far back that I heard it but didn’t really see it. By the time I came by, people were picking up their bikes. I swerved around and chased back on with some other guys.

For most of the race, I just sat at the back and tried to stay warm. At the back it is impossible to see what is going on in the race but it is easy to see who has not been riding. I saw a lot of people pull out; I won’t name names but… okay, Mihael. I saw Mihael drop out. I had to swerve out of the way like he was a pothole. Don’t be mad for me calling you out Mihael, you deserve that from the time you came up to me before a race and told me that I was too big and that I would get dropped. We are even now. The rest of the Remax guys looked really fit.

Anyway, back to the race. Empire had their new jerseys and they looked really good. So did the other teams but I noticed the Empire ones the most because there were so many of them. You have to admit it, there were just a lot of Empire bodies in that race. It was like one huge team against groups of 2-3 guys. It doesn’t help that they are all good.

I never really have a good memory for what happened at a race once it is over. All I remember is that I tried to go with a move with a couple guys and it never got going, I went back to the field and decided that attacking is too hard and a waste of time. I think Rashad spent some time of the front (with cool new kit). Loehner attacked at some point (again, I was so far back that I didn’t see him go). My teammate Justin helped keep it close so we would have a chance to sprint.

Now I am sitting in a hotel room in Copenhagen waiting for a conference call to start. I am here all week at a carbon emissions trading conference. I get back late Friday night, just in time to try to get some sleep and go to Grant’s Tomb. I just popped on the TV and Paris Nice is on Eurosport… boring… back to Euro MTV.
