Wyoming

Just south of Rock Springs, WY. Very cold and windy!

Where J and I got married. It is called Flaming Gorge and it is in Utah just south of the Wyoming border.
I went to Wyoming for Christmas and New Years. Needless to say, it was very cold–the temps were below zero most nights. My wife grew up there and I have to be honest I really like it there. People are much more friendly and down to earth. My wife grew up in a mining town called Rock Springs. It is in the southwest corner of the state near Utah, and about 4 hours south of Yellowstone National Park. The town is booming right now, so if any of you unemployed bankers need a job there are plenty to be had as long as you don’t mind getting dirty or your arms blown off in a natural gas explosion. One of the reasons I like it there is the ample chances to do outside stuff, like skiing and snowshoeing. These are photos from one day we went X-C skiing. I’m typing this wearing my new 10 gallon hat, and only my hat. I had to wear it on the plane ride home (I felt like a wannabe cowboy a-hole), but people do seem to give you more respect when you wear it.
